This is work supervising and coordinating the activites of clerical and administrative support workers. The major portion of time is devoted to communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees; planning and directing their work. Has the authority to recommend the hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, recalling, promoting, discharging, assigning, rewarding or disciplining subordinate employees. Acts as the Vendor Manager. Supervises four Health Support Specialists.
Supervises the work of employees to ensure effective utilization of time, resources and work flows. Oversees clerical operations at both WIC locations. Plans, prepares, and revises work schedules and duty assignments according to budget allotments, customer needs, problems, workloads. Monitors quality and quantity of work. Assess employee time utilization. Reassigns work as necessary. Prioritizes work assignments and objectives. Meets deadlines.
Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings. Coaches employees to develop their knowledge or skills. Interprets established policy and provides information for the resolution of problems to support personnel. Coaches, supervises and mentors Health Support Specialist. Completes the Program Service Delivery Observation Forms for Health Support Specialists.
Assists with recruitment process by participating in the interview team for various WIC positions. Trains employees in the WIC Program Rules and Regulations which affects their jobs. Trains employees in the WIC FL WiSE system. Advises employees of the changes in the WIC FL WiSE system or WIC rules and regulations. Distributes information to employees.
Evaluates employees. Writes and communicates performance standards. Meets regularly with employees to ensure that standards are being achieved. Motivates employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
Compiles and analyzes data for administrative decisions. This includes researching, gathering data and resolving the Benefit Over Issue Report, Resolve Dual Enrollment Report, Florida WIC Program Access Monitoring Report, Foster Children Report, EBT Card Replacement Report, Vendor Management Travel Report, Hemoglobin Indicators Report, and Direct Distribution Formula Inventory Report.
Consults with supervisor, management, work units or other organizations to resolve problems. Assists WIC Coordinator with writing policy and procedures related to support staff functions. Responsible for the annual Civil Rights training for all DOH:Citrus WIC employees. Keeps agenda and sign:in sheet on file.
Inventories all OCO items purchased with WIC funds once a year. Assists WIC Coordinator with order and purchasing supplies and equipment. Orders and inventories special formula and sample formula. Complies with the mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, Florida Statutes and Chapter 69I:24, Florida Administrative Code.
Coordinates voter registration training, overseeing on:going registration activities and maintains a good working relationship with the Supervisor of Elections. Ensures that WIC staff receives the WIC required voter registration and civil rights training.
Performs related work as assigned.
