The duties and responsibilities of this position involve nutrition education activities for individuals and groups of clients not at medical high nutritional risk.

Certifies clients for participation in the WIC Program in accordance with the policies of the State WIC Program and regulations stated in DHM 150:24. Provides high and low risk nutrition education contacts as defined by agency policies. Provides services to the Reddick Clinic as assigned; additionally travels to other outlying clinics as needed and maintains the same client service standards as in the main clinic.

Correctly documents nutritional assessment and care plans in medical records using SOAP or other approved formats. Entries are correctly dated and signed with title included.

Provides nutrition counseling, education and breastfeeding education using approved materials and format. Assists clients in setting goals for behavioral change and evaluates client progress in meeting goals.

Accurately completes reports and data entry into FL:WiSE by required deadlines, using WIP manual and DHM 150:24.

Participates in preparation and presentation of newsletters, bulletin boards, wellness programs, in:service training and other activities as assigned by supervisor.

Attends staff meetings and professional development activities 90 of the time.

Provides service to clients in an efficient manner to assure smooth clinic flow and even caseload distribution among nutrition staff. Adheres to department policies for sanitation, safety, phone and computer use.

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. May be required to use personal vehicle for transportation to assignments.

Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics. Must have experience completing nutrition counseling, assessments and writing nutrition care plans. Must be willing to travel to clinics using your own vehicle. Must have 2 references we can contact.

Bilingual preferred.
