Bonus Amount - 24 month commitment to an HCA facility - RN - $5,000 A unique position that provides direct care to the maternity patients who require Trauma Center services in a family centered approach, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization, as well as guidelines of professional organizations. The OB RN remains in a high-alert "on-call" status and promptly available 24/7. The OB RN will follow the patient throughout the hospitalization (Trauma Resuscitation area, Radiology, OR, ICU and 4th Floor Trauma). During periods of down-time the OB RN will perform other duties within his/her scope of practice that contribute to the overall success of the trauma mission as assigned by his/her supervisor. Tasks may include but are not limited to care of equipment and supplies, contribution to the PI initiatives of the Trauma Registry and preparation for and assistance with department training. Basic Care: Responsible for the care of the obstetrical patient requiring the services of the Level II Trauma Center. Intermediate Care: Obtains comprehensive obstetrical history and physical evaluation of the maternal patient, and evaluation and monitoring of the fetus during the Secondary Evaluation. Recognizes current and emerging high-risk obstetrical conditions and emergencies in order to respond timely and appropriately to provide the highest quality care to the maternal/fetal dyad. Provides perinatal, perioperative care/post-operative care in a manner in accordance with the plan of care, hospital policy, state and national regulations and recommendations, and guidelines of the professional organizations. Administers high-risk medications in accordance with established protocols for obstetrical patients to promote optimal maternal/ newborn outcomes. Comprehensive Care: Manages nursing care for the obstetrical patient with high-risk conditions throughout the hospital course. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and other hospital departments to provide complex care for the high-acuity obstetrical patient. * Qualified Active Duty Military, Reserves or Veteran / Spouse of Active Duty Military, Reserves or Veteran (Registered Nurse, Certified Surgical Technicians and Paramedic) recruits will be eligible for a sign-on bonus when hired to join our HCA team of caregivers.
