Requisition No: 10027 Agency: Department of HealthWorking Title: CLINICAL ASSOCIATE - 64000984Position Number: 64000984 Salary: $70,000 to $73,378 - Negotiable as allowed Posting Closing Date: 05/15/2017 The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision to be the healthiest state in the nation. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness and Excellence in all aspects of their work. This position is an advanced, specialized, highly skilled, independent aspect of core public and community health involving several specialized and general aspects of DOH-Citrus. This is including but not limited to Family Planning, STI, TB, HIV, communicable disease, Environmental, and Refugee health. The incumbent exercises independent judgment. This incumbent can provide coverage in any clinical setting. The primary responsibility of this position is to detect physical and mental abnormalities through complete health history taking, physical and developmental assessment and evaluation of various test results. A second responsibility is to counsel (teach) patient and/or family in an attempt to prevent further problems, increase patient's awareness and to refer problems on to the correct resources when necessary. All clinical programs are to be coordinated with other medical staff and are performed under the direction of the Medical Director. Provide comprehensive Family Planning, communicable disease, STI and well-women care to patients. Medical Screening:Clinic coverage as needed; assessing patient’s physiological, psychological, psychosocial and environmental status. Initiates diagnostic testing and interprets results. Provides medical and nursing diagnoses; formulates treatment plans; provides prescriptions within the limits of background training, certification and role responsibilities. Monitors therapeutic response; documents care provided in accordance with DOH guidelines. Educates patients and significant others regarding disease process, prevention and treatment. To do the appropriate physical examination to insure detection of disabilities and health problems through various tests and developmental assessment.To counsel on growth and development, accident prevention, health lifestyle, hygiene, importance of, as well as legal aspects of immunizations, dental care, etc.Advise on care and management of minor illnesses and treat according to protocols; refer patients on to the appropriate resource for further treatment.Sick Care-Assess, diagnose and treat under established estimated medical protocols.Provide assessment diagnosis and treatment of public health problems under standard medical protocols for all age groups.Appropriate documentation and management of the medical record into the Electronic Health Record System. Evaluates test results and making appropriate referrals for follow up treatment. Perform insertion of LARC (implanted devices/ IUD/IUS). Serve as subject matter expert in community education. Speak if needed at community meetings/events. Assist in QI activities. Other duties as assigned, rotation through other clinics as needed. Complete Employment Activity Record daily and accurately.
